M&M's Candy

M&Ms are just about the most popular milk chocolate candy out there. With their milk chocolate inside and their colorful candy coating, these chocolates “melt in your mouth, not in your hands”. Coupled with the adorable characters, a brilliant marketing campaign and their great taste, M&M candies are hard to resist.

Whether you crave the original Milk Chocolate Candy, the Peanut Milk Chocolate Candy or newer combinations such as Almond Milk Chocolate Candy or Peanut Butter Chocolate Candy, you’ve come to the right place. Sugar Stand stocks all kinds of M&M candy in a variety of sizes. We have King and Fun Size packs, we have Tubes as well. Your wish is our command!

Even though M&Ms are supposed to melt in your mouth, we don’t want them to melt in our delivery truck. That’s why we take extra care with all of our chocolate products. In the hot summer months, we pack all chocolate in dry ice to be sure that your order arrives fresh and wonderful. In addition, if you order on a Friday, we’ll hold of on shipping until the weekend is over to make sure your precious chocolate doesn’t sit in a hot truck.

What candy has reached icon status? The M&M of course! People love them so much, many have even been known for getting the M&M characters tattooed on their bodies. Much lore surrounds certain colors such as the green M&M and nothing stirs up more controversy amongst candy lovers than when colors are added or removed from the package.

Did you know the idea for the candy that melts in your mouth, not in your hands was inspired by the Spanish Civil War? Apparently, Forrest Mars Sr. went on a trip to Spain where he saw soldiers munching on chocolate pellets with a hard sugar coating. The hard coating prevented the chocolate from melting and added a delightful crunch.

Mars came back home inspired to create his own recipe and the plain version of M&Ms was born. 1941 was the year these cuties first hit the market and they were an immediate hit. American GIs loved the convenient cardboard tube and their portability. Mars marketed these candies to the soldiers and eventually made them available to the public too. The cardboard tube lasted all of eight years before it was replaced with the brown pouch still found today.

Peanuts joined the M&M line up in 1954. It wasn’t until the 1960s when colors where added. Up until now, the candies were plain old brown. Red, green, and yellow M&Ms added a touch of fun to the candies. Colors have come and gone since then including Black and White. In addition, seasonal M&Ms are regularly offered.

Thirty years after their invention, the M&M characters themselves were born. By the mid 1990s, these characters popularity soared to new levels – passing Mickey Mouse in popularity! You’ve seen them on billboards, commercials, films, advertisements, the internet, Halloween costumes, and yes, even tattoos. They’re everywhere, charming fans young and old. Collecting M&M character memorabilia is a growing hobby amongst M&M enthusiasts.

Who can resist a handful of the chocolate that melts in your mouth? Not too many people. Turn to Sugar Stand to stock up on the latest packages of your favorites! From collectible packages, seasonal offerings and the standard brown pouches, we have a huge selection to choose from.

Hand out individual pouches of M&Ms at Halloween or pour a bag of pastel M&Ms into a pretty candy dish this spring and watch how fast they disappear. Pink and red colors make a terrific Valentine’s Day addition and the classic red and green combinations are Christmas favorites. We even have black and orange M&Ms in the fall!
